    Project Summary

    Serendip provides specialist facilities, therapy and equipment to schools in the North and East of Sri Lanka to support children with autism and other special needs. This includes sensory rooms, speech & language therapy, yoga sessions, and also music & dance therapy in our fine arts centres. Over the last few years, we have sponsored professionals working within the Departments of Education and Health to undertake comprehensive training in India and they in turn train others in Sri Lanka.

    Building Bridges Programme

    Serendip provides specialist facilities, therapy and equipment to schools in the North and East of Sri Lanka to support children with autism and other special needs. This includes sensory rooms, speech & language therapy, yoga sessions, and also music & dance therapy in our fine arts centres. Over the last few years, we have sponsored professionals working within the Departments of Education and Health to undertake comprehensive training in India and they in turn train others in Sri Lanka.  

    • There are 8 schools in the North & East where we are targeting to upgrade Special Needs facilities in 2020/2021.
      • It costs £1300 per School to upgrade.
      • In total we are aiming for 8 Schools to be uplifted, costing £10,400.
      • Teacher Training for Special Needs costs £2500 per 10 Special needs teachers.
      • Speech Therapist cost £150 per month, £1800 per annuum.
