Despite its increasing importance there are few trained teachers in ICT available due to a lack of funding in the Wanni. For example, ICT is only being taught one or two days a week for one hour only. Given the increasing importance of ICT skills in employment we are funding evening classes for over 500 children.</p>
We donate computers for schools annually. The sponsorship, apart from donated 2nd hand computers and laptops, is covered by one of our supporters, Johannes Shanmugam, who carries out an annual ‘Heart2Heart’ walk around the Cotswolds’ or to London.
